* I moved to Walthamstow in 2003.  Ian joined me here in 2008, and, like The folk who live on the hill, we've added a "wing or two, a thing or two" to accommodate our continually changing household.

Why we stopped taking bookings through airbnb
From 2011-15 we accommodated hundreds of guests through airbnb.  We no longer do this, although we keep a listing on their site in order to explain that   "We are not taking any more bookings through airbnb as we are unhappy about airbnb's collusion with Israel's illegal settlements in Palestinian land. You can read about the way in which airbnb contributes to the normalisation of this occupation in a Washington Post article by Dan Ephron from June 1st 2017".

When I needed some help on my Walthamstow Allotment, we accommodated helpers through HelpX and some of these have stayed on, or returned, as "working guests".  This has suited us very well.
